Kanto Jeo Temple

SKanto jeo is a Hindu temple,22 km from Dinajpur town. It is a magnificent monument which is rare in Bangladesh for its fully covered terracotta ornaments. It is a Hindu temple but chosen by all religious believers. Its outward decoration fascinates amateurs arts, historians and tourists for its construction. Every wall is 52 feet and highest height is 70 feet. The Quadrangular temple is three storied and three step. The temple is decorated with terracotta panel from top to bottom and arranged both horizontally and vertically. Mahabharata, Ramayana, Radha- Krishna, Kalki images are described on this panels.

King Pran Nath Roy started building this monument in his rule (1682--1722),dedicating this temple to Lord Krishna and his wife Rukshmini. The temple was completed in 1752 by King Ram Nath, the son of Pran Nath. Three time the puja is perform here daily. Every year month of Kartik(November) Rash puja and Mela are arranged here. A lot of domestic and foreign pilgrims come here that time.

Hotels ,Motels, Restaurants are available in Dinajpur town. Any one can come here by bus, car or van from Dinajpur town. Dinajpur is 400KM from Dhaka city. Ac or non Ac buses are available at Gabtoli / Kallanpur for Dinajpur from day to night. Saiedpur airport is 50Km from Dinajpur town. Anyone can come by plane and then bus or car are easy vehicles to come Dinajpur.
